Further info

The Social Supermarket is designed to support individuals and families facing the challenges of the rising cost of living by offering access to low-cost essentials as well as finding out about local support in a welcoming environment.

The system works with a set price giving access to a set number of items, so £5 provides access to 10 items, £7.50 for 15 items, £10 for 20 items and £15 for 30 items. Groceries are colour coded according to value so a green sticker counts as half an item (2 for 1), yellow counts as 2 items, pink as 3 items and red as 4 items. Please bring your own shopping bag to carry your items home.

The Social Supermarket will initially operate bi-weekly at both White Colne Village Hall, and the White Lion Pub in Sible Hedingham.

For specific dates for each location please see our website: Social Supermarket
