NHS Talking Therapies: Mid Essex
Mid Essex Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression programme (formerly known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, IAPT) is a free, confidential NHS service for people aged 17 and over that provides a wide range of talking therapy treatments for adults with common mental health problems including depression and anxiety disorders.
If any of these reflect what you’re experiencing, you can quickly refer yourself for assessment. Our team of experienced clinicians will work with you to understand your challenges and put in place tools and techniques to manage difficult feelings. In addition to our standard service, we have dedicated offerings delivered by clinicians with additional specialist training. The range of support can vary depending on availability in your local area. Treatment options are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a structured therapy where you will set goals you want to reach and work on changes you can make to patterns of thoughts and behaviours to help you attain your goals.

Our service is available to anyone over the age of 17 who is registered, or intending to be registered with a GP in Mid Essex.

Our service offers a range of treatment options to help you to make positive changes in your life and improve your wellbeing. We also provide interventions remotely including interactive webinars, group sessions and 1-1 therapy delivered via telephone, online video conference or a combination of both.
