Halstead Empire Theatre Dementia and Autism Friendly Cinema
Our presentations are designed to give you the best possible experience we can to make the visit a happy and enjoyable one, we have houselights on low and sound at a comfortable level, plus we have staff on hand to help and assist where necessary and appropriate. The screenings will have had some adjustments made to make the cinema experience more enjoyable for people with autism or sensory sensitivity.
Dementia Friendly Screenings - We have a large, air conditioned auditorium, with ample capacity for large groups as well as couples and their carers, the entry and film are FREE, as well as the tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. Spaces for wheelchairs are limited to four, so if you do wish to attend and need a wheelchair space, please call the box office to arrange a booking for these spaces. Autism Friendly Screenings - adjustments are made to make the cinema experience more enjoyable for people with autism or sensory sensitivity, adjustments including lights left on low, sound down low, no trailers or advertisements, chill out zone, freedom to move around and sit where you like and staff trained in autism awareness.
