Bocking St Marys: Friendly Friday Café - Warm Space
Everyone is welcome to pop into our Warm Space, but more appropriately our Community Space. The Friendly Friday Cafe runs each Friday through term time from 12-2.30pm. Drop in anytime, there is no need to book. There will be a free lunch, refreshments and cakes served during that time. A chance to meet others and to be out of the house. Our Hall is somewhere warm and friendly, a space run by the church for the whole community.

The cafe is open again after the summer break and we are delighted to be seeing you all once again! The cafe will run from Sept 11th until 11th December where we will enjoy a Christmas celebration together!
Welcome back to The Friendly Friday Café it’s lovely to see you all again.
We hope you have had and enjoyable summer and coped with the hot weather, but it has been good to see some rain and enjoy cooler evenings and nights.
We are back every Friday until 11th December with some tasty treats for lunch.
Here are some dates for your diaries
Friday 18th September – Braintree Voices are singing in the Church at 11am to celebrate their 2nd Birthday, it’s free to attend, so why not go and enjoy their singing and then come down for lunch.
Friday 23rd October & Friday 27th November – Terri Johnson PCSO for the Braintree & Uttlesford Neighbourhood Policing Team will be coming to join us for lunch on both dates. She will be chatting with you all and offer safety advice as the darker evenings approach.
Friday 30th October- Get ready to celebrate ‘All things scary’
Friday 11th December- End of Term Celebration
Saturday 12th December- Christmas Tree Festival and Christmas Market in the Church. Come and join the festivities and get some extra Christmas Presents. Enjoy the refreshments on offer while listening to festive songs and carols. There are whispers that Father Christmas may even be visiting so don’t miss out.
The Hall is step free and so accessible for all. It has has good toilet facilities. Getting to us by bus is easiest via the No38/38A
Who can use this service?
Everyone is welcome, and we are free for all. he cafe survives on donations from service users. There is no expectation or request to make a donation. If you wish to make a donation you can do so on the day or via the St Mary's parish office.
How are services delivered?
We meet in the Church Hall. Drop in anytime. Tables are set up so you can sit with others or on your own. We also have 'welcomers' just to make sure we can put you at ease.
